I'm wondering why TV programmers ignore Sunday night. Yes, "60 Minutes" can be compelling, but I think it's popularity surged because there has traditionally been nothing else on. Tonight is a perfect example. Nothing great to watch. "In Plain Sight" is over and "Amazing Race" has not yet begun. I'm somewhat intrigued by "Shark Tank," and I love "Entourage," but otherwise, nothing.

Yes, I agree Sunday nights are lame for TV and I usually resort to the discovery channel. However, my wife has grown tired of me watching shows on how concrete works. It was hard staying up until 10PM to watch HBO. We recently got pulled in to Entourage too. Do real people curse that much.
ReplyDeleteSunday nights on NETWORk television have been lame because they have all given up against the dynamic programming on HBO, and now Showtime. The Soporanos, Six Feet Under & Sex & The City were all huge successes on Sundays, and this summer TRUE BLOOD has been a ratings star for the cable network. Add to that The Tudors, Weeds, and this summer's breakout comedy Nurse Jackie on Showtime, it's no wonder that the alphabets take a break. All of these series have scored ratings & Emmys.
ReplyDeleteI've also been admonished that I should be watching "Mad Men," a Sunday night staple for many. I haven't tried it yet, because I have not traditionally been into period television shows.
