ABC News' "Good Morning America" co-anchor
Robin Roberts has announced that Friday, August 31 will be her last day on
air before she starts an extended medical leave.
All this week the
program will celebrate Robin, and provide extensive reporting on her
treatment, procedure and recovery process. Her doctor will also be
interviewed about how she is preparing for the bone marrow transplant,
and explain what she can expect in the coming months. Additionally, the
show will feature uplifting and powerful stories about families who have
faced and overcome an MDS diagnosis.
Beginning
on Thursday, Robin's team and her doctors will post information on her
recovery in the months ahead, and viewers will be able to leave personal
messages for Robin (link will be shared on Thursday). There will also
be information on how to become a bone marrow donor through
BeTheMatch.org.
