Bachelorette Couple to Marry on TV

Just on the heels of the announcement that the latest Bachelorette couple, Emily and Jef, had broken up, comes the news that Ashely and J.P. will get married on ABC.

It's lucky for the network, since this franchise has such a poor track record.  Just a week ago, Bachelor Ben and his "fiance" (I can't remember her name and what's the point of looking it up) split up.

Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, the second "Bachelorette" couple to ever walk down the aisle, will have their TV wedding in December.

The couple, engaged in Fiji at the end of Ashley's edition of "The Bachelorette" in August 2010, will show it all - from Ashley's dress fittings and meetings with their wedding planner to the bachelor and bachelorette parties.  They'll then show the next stage of their romantic "journey" (the ABC buzz word, not mine), the ceremony.
.
Past "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" couples, stars and participants (to be announced) will be on the guest list to beef up the ratings.

The Ashley story began when she failed to capture Brad Womack's heart (thank goodness for her) on the 15th edition of "The Bachelor" in early 2010. The newly minted dentist then went for the seventh edition of "The Bachelorette."

Ashley, 28, graduated from dental school at the University of Pennsylvania and is currently completing a specialty in pediatric dentistry at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

J.P., 35, is a construction manager in New York City.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelorette: Ashley and J.P.'s Wedding" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are executive producers.

ABC says the special will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online. For more information on "The Bachelorette: Ashley and J.P.'s Wedding" please visit ABC.com.
