"Modern Family," winner of three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, will be an hour long, really two back-to-back episodes this week, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10 (9:00-9:31 & 9:31-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. (They were preempt end due to Wednesday's debate.)
In the first half of the hour, entitled "Schooled" (9:00-9:31 p.m.), Phil and Claire drop Haley off at college, a difficult moment for any parent, but made worse when they manage to really embarrass her. Meanwhile, Manny forces Jay and Gloria to take a baby class, and when Lily gets into a playground tussle on the first day of kindergarten, Mitch and Cam have a meeting with the other child's confrontational lesbian parents (guest stars Wendi McLendon-Covey and Michaela Watkins).
In the second half of the hour, entitled "Snip" (9:31-10:00 p.m.), Phil and Claire's five-year plan has him going in for a vasectomy, and today's the big day; Jay and Gloria disagree about whether or not to find out the sex of the baby -- and all the while Gloria's in denial about needing maternity clothes - and Mitchell tries to gently steer Cameron towards a part-time job, but will Cameron fall for it?
