THE 39TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS on CBS posted year-to-year growth in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 9. But Modern Family took the ratings as the highest rated program last night.
On from 9:00-11:00 PM, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS helped CBS become the top-rated network for the evening. It tied for first in adults 25-54 (3.4/08, with ABC) and was second in adults 18-49 (2.6/07). Compared to the same special last year (on Jan. 11, 2012), CBS was up +7% in households (from 5.9/09), +13% in adults 25-54 (from 3.0/07), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07) and added +760,000 viewers (from 8.88m, +9%).
THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS posted its best deliveries in households, viewers and adults 25-54 since 2010, in adults 18-49 since 2011.

Amazing how LEVERAGE won even though it has been cancelled by TNT. It was a great show.
