Katie Couric to Host Oscar Retrospective Special

This year's Katie Couric Oscar special will not be a complete rip-off of the celebrated Barbara Walters interviews traditionally aired just before the Academy Awards broadcasts.

Instead,  "Mad About Oscar with Katie Couric" will look back at the history of the awards shows with a look inside the vast Oscar archives for the big moments in the show's history and rarely seen behind-the-scenes footage and home movies of some of Hollywood's most iconic stars.

Several of this year's nominees like Bradley Cooper, Sally Field, Jennifer Lawrence and Denzel Washington, and stars including Billy Crystal, Marisa Tomei, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding, Jr., as well as Dawn Hudson, Academy CEO, will participate.

"Mad About Oscar with Katie Couric," a Special Edition of "20/20," airs WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on ABC.

The special will feature the most memorable and moving Oscar acceptance speeches of all time, the funnier monologue moments, unscripted and surprising Oscar moments, and the red carpet fashions.

Also, with unprecedented access to the Oscar vault at the Pickford Center in Hollywood, the broadcast features recently unearthed early film of Hollywood legend Lucille Ball; unique behind-the-scenes footage of Marilyn Monroe shot during the filming of "The Misfits," "Bus Stop" and "The Prince and the Showgirl"; and rare home film shot behind the scenes of "Gone with the Wind".
