Ratings for ABC's The Chew - Week of December 5th

The daytime ratings are in the for the week of December 5th.  For those following The Chew, it is beating last year's same-week ratings for All My Children, but not in the important demographics of Women 18-49, 25-54 and 18-34 - and those numbers are important to the network.  Experts are predicting that matters will be worse when One Life to Live departs in January.

Here are the overall ratings for The Chew from its premiere week, but we're now omitting some of the middle weeks because of space.

  1. The Chew "bleeds" into One Life to Live's time slot, to doctor the ratings higher. Once OLTL is gone, the jig will be up (but it will be too late).

  2. So very sad all of the great actors that have lost jobs because ABC can make this train wreck of a show cheaper. As they are learning, cheap is not always the best way to go.

  3. Shelly, I'm very interested in hearing more about what you said about The Chew "bleeding" onto OLTL for the sake of ratings. Please send any source or documentation you may have and we'll look into that. Thanks.

  4. THE PHEW does not bleed into OLTL spot. OLTL comes on at 2pm east coast, I checked to see when ANDERSON comes on on the NBC affil and it comes on exactly when OLTL does. Conspiracy theories won't save my soaps

  5. In the central time zone, One Life to Live follows the Chew and the last minute or so of the Chew IS RECORDED on any DVR that is set up for One Life. That could change things. It will be obvious when One Life is no longer on. Wish things couldl change.

  6. Well Chew will "bleed" more one one live to live is over. People will watch NBC, so their rating will be awesome, then they will watch general hospital. ABC made a big mistake, they will loose more money because people do not watch reality show all the time. good luck ABC
