Perhaps times have changed since the 70's or maybe the new iteration of Charlie's Angels didn't have the appeal of the original, but after only four outings ABC has cancelled the series.
The network made the announcement today. The series premiere on September 22nd drew a solid 8.7 million, but the numbers continued to fall every week thereafter.
This version starred Minka Kelly, Annie Ilonzeh and Rachael Taylor and had the misfortune to compete with the CBS smash hit The Big Bang Theory.
Coming on the heels of NBC's cancellation of The Playboy Club, there's also evidence to support the theory that Americans aren't into programs that objectify women. Could that be true? One can hope, but somehow I think there's more to the failure of the this one than that.
