Master Chef is yet another creation of Gordon Ramsey. He's joined on this one by restauranteur Joe Bastianich (Del Posto, Eataly) and Chef Graham Eliot (Graham Eliot, Grahamwich). The three critique home cooks in challenges designed to test their palates, knowledge, skills and grit.
The first two winners of Master Chef have been Jennifer Behm, a realtor from Wilmington, DE, and Whitney Miller, a student from Poplarville, MS. Since her win, Miller released a cookbook, her first. Jennifer Behm is writing a cookbook and established a successful private catering company. Both won a $250,000 prize.
Casting begins Saturday October 29th in Los Angeles and runs through Saturday, December 10th in San Francisco. Eligibility requirements and forms are available at www.masterchefcasting.com, but the gist of it is that you show up with a photo of yourself, a photo of a dish, and an actual dish you think will impress the judges. Alternatively, contestants may submit a video. Here's the whole schedule with venues to be announced shortly.
