Bill Cosby with David Gregory on Trayvon Martin Case

In this week’s “Meet the Press” mid-week “PRESS Pass” conversation, David Gregory sat down with American entertainment icon Bill Cosby and George Washington University African American History expert Dr. Bernard Demczuk.

Cosby believes guns are the main issue in the Trayvon Martin shooting case – not race. He said: "When you have a gun, you may not realize it, but you put it on your person and you mean to pull this," motioning with his trigger finger, "and kill somebody. That's what you mean to do."

Cosby also defended President Obama, saying his critics act like he is the cause of the country’s economic problems. “[There are] people who are very quietly acting like they have no idea what [President Obama] inherited -- it’s as if he had the surplus when he moved into office and this is sad. … Because they know that they have misbehaved they know that they have taken America and slowed down the progress.”

In the interview, Cosby and Bernard Demczuk shared more of their thoughts on the Trayvon Martin shooting as well as the re-opening of the historic Howard Theater in Washington, DC.
