The Chew and The Revolution on ABC Sinking Further

Nielsen results from the week of March 26th show further erosion for ABC's two new talk shows, The Chew and The Revolution, the replacements for All My Children and One Life to Live.

The Chew drew 2.21 million viewers, a slight uptick from the previous week, but still quite a bit fewer than the year-to-year comparison with All My Children from 2011, 2.38 million.  In total viewers, The Chew is 7% below AMC, but 18% behind in women 25-54 and 25% behind in women 18-49 and 18-34.  Both are important demographics for daytime, as you might imagine.

At The Revolution the news is much worse.  It tied with its previous series low at 1.32 million viewers (the same number as the previous week), almost half as many as One Life to Live at this time last year, which was 2.57 million.  Among women 18-49, there was a 60% loss and among women 18-34, a 67% drop.  That's pretty bad.

  1. I would like to know how these shows are doing in the time slot with the other networks. I don't care about last year Last year is over. But if NBC and CBS shows are gainning in their time slots then I think this is more importnat for ABC to see what a horrible thing they did by cancelling our soaps. That they aren't winning the time slot and that the viewers that they had with the soaps are going else where for their entertainment.

  2. That's a good point. Next week, we will try to post ratings for CBS and NBC, but I can tell you that The Talk is doing better than ABC's programs by far.
