“Gordon and the producers really took MasterChef to a whole new level this year. The talent is absolutely fantastic, the competition is unbelievably intense, and it’s become one of the most compelling, heart-stopping hours on television,” said Darnell. “Over the course of three seasons, MasterChef has inspired millions of home cooks around the country to pursue their dreams in the kitchen, and I can’t wait for the show to inspire even more people with another season on FOX.”

In MasterChef, talented home cooks, in competition with their peers, showcase their skill, knowledge and passion to walk away with the the MasterChef title and a grand prize.

Now in its third season, MasterChef is showing significant year-over-year ratings gains, up +8% among Adults 18-49 and up +9% in total viewers this summer. MasterChef is one of the summer’s Top 10 programs among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

In the next episode airing tonight, the eight previously eliminated contestants return to the kitchen to earn a spot back in the competition. They will try to prove that they deserve a second chance by creating a stunning dish using only "mystery box" ingredients. Later, only two home cooks will compete head-to-head for a chance to win back their apron and continue on in the competition.

Tomorrow, the judges challenge the remaining seven home cooks to use their imagination in yet another mystery box challenge, features live spot prawns. The hopefuls will have a limited ingredients and little time to create a standout dish. The winner will determine which savory ingredient the remaining hopefuls must incorporate into a dessert dish in an elimination round that will send one more contestant home.
