The Chew Ratings: Week Eight

Ratings for The Chew on ABC have been increasing ever so slightly.  The show, the replacement for All My Children, continues to lag behind its predecessor and seems to have lost steam.  Here is the trend, beginning with its premiere week.  (We continue to report on these ratings because of the tremendous amount of interest we've received based on visits and comments.)

  1. How could there possibly be 2.3 million viewers of The Chew. I can't even stomach the commercials, let alone watching it. ABC has lost their mind.

  2. Why do you say ratings have lost steam? It seems that since the week of 10/3 ratings continue to climb. I discount week of 9/26 since that was the Premiere Week and a lot of people were just tuning in to "check it out." If anything, ratings are picking up steam.

  3. Why do you think it lags behind AMC. we were getting between a 1.5 to a 1.9 weekly ratings in 2011. it's about the same maybe higher and much cheaper.

  4. Hate the Chew...It's the worst show. They should bring back AMC or at least make a new soap opera. ABC does not know what they are doing. All these talk shows are horrible.

  5. We have enough food and reality shows on tv! The content is scattered, the hosts talk over their guests and each other so much, that it is impossible to follow. Put the classic soaps on at 1/2 hour intervals if you need to update your programming. Keep the old along with the new. What a big mistake whomever let this one on the air - this show should be axed!! ABC has lost my family and friends as viewers.
