CBS has chosen one of its own, LL Cool J, star of the successful NCIS: Los Angeles, to host the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. He is a two-time Grammy award winner. The broadcast, set for Sunday, February 12th, will be the first time the event will have an official host in seven years.
“I’m
thrilled to be a part of music’s biggest night,” said LL COOL J in a CBS new release. “I
will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be
hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible
artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music – it's
going to be a great night.”
LL COOL J has hosted The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! since its inception in 2008, but this is first wards hosting experience.
Past hosts have included Queen Latifah, Jon Stewart, Billy Crystal, Ellen Degeneres and Rosie O'Donnell, among
others.
Performers and nominees for the evening are Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars,
Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
