The announcement came from Roday and Hill who spoke through Facebook and Twitter. The network used the medium and its stars to reveal the news through a puzzle (a photo of a pineapple, right) whose pieces were unveiled one at a time to finally unlock a video from the actors.
Oddly, Roday told fans, as his character, Shawn Spencer, that he’s decided to get a new brown belt and needed their help. He then goes on to casually mention, “Oh, and also, Psych is officially coming back for a seventh season, which is very cool, but I'm kinda working on this belt situation right now.” Hill, who plays Shawn’s straight man Gus, followed with a shout out to fans thanking them for their support for the show.
Psych wrapped up the first half of season 6 in December and will return for the final seven episodes of the year on Feb. 29.
