As previously reported, the birthday tribute will precede White's new program, Off Their Rockers, a sort of Candid Camera with older people playing tricks on younger ones.
The birthday special, taping at the
Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, will include special musical
performances, surprise appearances and comedy, and will feature the
irreverent tone, spirit and energy that is the hallmark of White’s
six-decade career in show business. White will take the stage to share
some memories and give thanks to those who've come to honor her.
Betty White started out in radio in 1947. She was a regular on Password, the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Golden Girls and now Hot. She was divorced twice before she married the late host of Password, Allen Ludden, who remained her husband for 18 years until his death in 1981.
